First Blog Post - Intro
Photography is my native tongue and my main way of communication. And that moment where I found that I had a unique style I knew that I wanted to use it to make a living. Photography made me feel comfortable with my place in the universe.
There's still so many things in life that I want to do aside from photography. There's still so many books and films to see that I've missed out on all these years. Many of life's hidden gems has been piled over by current affairs, social media trends and mainstream news.
The same way I'm sharing interesting moments through my photography, the purpose of this blog is to share other interesting things that I have crossed paths with that you might find meaningful as well.
A lot of the topics I found interesting were through people’s blogs whether on their website or their Tumblr or X account. I had no idea that I would be interested in things like quantum physics, world cinema, James Joyce’s Ulysses or the great novels from the great Russian writers. In that same way I hope one of the topics or discussions I bring up in my blog post might spark something in someone else as several individuals did for me.
I have no idea where this blog is going to go. The blog is free to read (for now (I might paywall it later)). But for now, all I need from you need to is an email and create an account to read my blog. After that, feel free to read whenever you have time. Also be on the lookout in your email where I will share new photos that I took from the street as well as old photos from my archive.
This will kind of act as a public journal. And because it’s open to the public, it forces me to make sure that I’m on point and not slacking off making sure it’s worth your time.
Another reason I want to write here directly on my own site as opposed to where everyone else is writing on (substack, x, patreon) I want more of my writing to have less numbers and stats attached to them. Yes there are good writers utilizing and building a huge audience on those social media platforms but I think the problem is that they are writing to boost those numbers and increase subscriber counts. Here, I’m writing without the stats attached to any of my writing so I’m writing more for the pleasure of it. Maybe people will find it fun to read my other interests but all of this is selfishly to help me out understand more about what I’m interested in life and sometimes you don’t know what you’re interested in until you write (and photograph) the ideas out.
I want to be authentic as possible to whoever sees my content but most importantly myself. This will all be proof of the journey.
If anything that I wrote was of value to you, I created a tab to collect donations where 15% will be donated to my local dog rescue shelter to help them find their permanent homes.
