July 6th

This morning I was contemplating whether or not to go to D.C. a fourth day in a row. I didn’t hit my weekly quota for photos and thought to go out one more time before the start of the work week. I thought about it decided that it’s best to stay home, save my energy for a good Monday morning start and do some much-needed house chores. Doing a bedroom deep clean is a once or twice a year spectacle. When that burst of motivation hits, it’s so random and it’s usually after 1am and I’ll suddenly put clothes away, pick up the items covering the entire floor as if I’m expecting guests in an hour.

Still have a little more work to do but right now, there’s a lot of space to walk around and work on a mini studio for product photography and basic headshots.

A Little Life- I’m around page 100 of this 800-page tome. From what I have read so far, four friends trying to scrape up money to afford a small apartment in New York City. We have so far been given small portraits of each of the four young me, how they interact with one another as well a some info on their upbringing. Aside from that, I wasn’t sure what else Yanigihara can do to entertain the reader for the next 700 pages. Not that I was getting bored from reading it already, I love her word choice and the psychological details. It’s one of those books where you’ll know these men better than you know your family or close friends.

Around page 90 the story gets really dark and had to close the book for a good minute.

Later today watched Memories of Murder (2003) & Blue Velvet (1986) back to back. Aside from F1, there’s not too many good movies out right now so going to watch the commentaries on both these films while eating dinner. Blue Velvet felt like one of those films you have to take a semester course to understand. Couldn’t even imagine what watching that at the theatres was like when it first premiered.
